Galentine’s Hearts & Crafts Event in Simi Valley | Hosted by Susan Ashouri & Kelly Evans
There’s something really special about bringing people together, and our recent Galentine’s Hearts and Crafts event was exactly that.
Hosted at our office Kelly Evans and Associates in Simi Valley, this event was all about connection, creativity, and creating a space where women could come together, relax, and enjoy a fun night out.
As a Simi Valley realtor, moments like this are what I truly love most. Real estate for me has always been about relationships and community, not just selling homes.
The Creative Details Behind the Event
One of my favorite parts of putting this event together was bringing all the little details to life. From the backdrop design to the printables on each table, everything was created and styled by me with so much love and intention. I wanted the space to feel soft, welcoming, and a little bit special the moment you walked in.
Creating these pieces is something I truly enjoy, and it means so much to be able to share that creativity in a way that brings people together. Seeing everything come to life and watching everyone enjoy it made it all worth it.
Sweet Little Details made with My Cricut Machine
One of my favorite details from the night had to be these custom drink toppers I made using my Cricut machine. I designed each one to match the Galentine’s theme and added them to the drink station with striped paper straws, and they ended up being the cutest little touch.
It’s always the small details that bring everything together, and this was such an easy way to elevate the setup. If you love DIY party decor, using a Cricut is one of my favorite ways to create personalized elements that make your event feel extra special.
I used my Cricut to make simple centerpieces, and I love how they turned out.
Simi Valley Local Spotlight: Custom Painted Banners by Gabriela of @GabyandaBrush
I truly love highlighting creatives in our community, especially moms who are building something meaningful through their talent. Her work brought such a special energy to our Galentine’s gathering, and it was the perfect addition to the overall design by Gabriela of @gabyandabrush. She’s a Simi Valley local and creates the most beautiful custom backdrops that truly make an event feel special.
I love being able to support talented creatives in our community, especially moms who are building something so meaningful. Her work added such a thoughtful and personal touch to the night, and I’m so grateful we got to include it.
Custom Details at the Table
For the table setup, I created custom placemats for each guest with their names, which made everything feel so personal and welcoming. I printed them using my Canon Pixma Pro-100, and I love how they tied into the overall theme so seamlessly.
I added a mix of sweet treats, stickers, florals, Mod Podge, and different craft supplies throughout the table so everything was available that the ladies can easily craft using the supplies in front of them.

We served some finger foods, and here are a few I captured. Kelly is always so great at making everything, she definitely gets all the credit here.
More Than Just Real Estate
I created a simple welcome sign at the entrance to greet everyone and add a subtle reminder of what I do.
For me, real estate and creativity go hand in hand. Whether I’m hosting a gathering or helping someone find a home, I care about how a space feels just as much as the final result. This night was such a beautiful reminder of that.
